Author: Fr. Robert A. Brungs, SJ
Article Abstract:
The author comments on the book, Higher Superstition: The Academic Left and Its Quarrels with Science by Paul R. Gross and Norman Levitt (1994). Brungs proposes another model to consider in the science and faith arena: that of ally. He notes that it is neither hostility nor neutrality that will bring about an alliance between science and faith but the realization that both scientists and people of faith must work in the “world as it is” with received things and not in the “world as they think it ought to be.”
